PINO

Pino Daniele was many things. A singer-songwriter, a rockstar, a pop icon, but also a classmate, a sincere friend, a husband, a father, a Neapolitan for sure, but also in love with Tuscany, Rome, and Milan. A concentration of Italian-ness that however escaped stereotypes and sought oxygen in musicians from all over the world. This documentary is an attempt to tell all of this, starting from his music, his songs, his experiments, all the way to an unpublished hidden gem. The film is a vertical immersion in Pino’s life, testified in audio by the voices of those who loved him, worked with him, played with him, toured the world with him, even argued with him and then made peace. The narrative framework is a present-day line featuring Federico Vacalebre, a journalist and music critic, who sets out to search for what’s left of Pino and realizes that maybe he’s never really left. In addition to interviews and voices from those who accompanied him in his life and career, there are music videos of Pino’s greatest hits set in modern-day Naples, because the protagonists of his lyrics still walk the streets of Naples, with their imperfections and obsessions. And Pino’s songs are still able to tell their story, to tell the Naples of the present and what it will become

School of Life

In most parts of the world, school is a crucial development environment where children grow, learn, and find self-fulfillment. But for some kids, school is much more than that – it’s a matter of life and death.

The mission of the non-profit organization Still I Rise is to solve the global education crisis by providing excellent, free education to the most discriminated, poor, and vulnerable children in the world. Through a cutting-edge educational model, Still I Rise empowers these children and gives them the chance to build a better future.

HEROIC!

Starting from the prestigious 100-year anniversary of Corriere dello Sport, one of Italy’s best-selling newspapers, this documentary film aims to explain what sport is and how the way it is lived and told has changed. The documentary has a dual soul, on one hand giving voice to Italy’s top athletes and sportsmen, and on the other documenting the birth, production, and distribution of the newspaper, a true archive of the country’s collective memory. The narrative is held together by a talented host who reflects on the ultimate meaning of sport, seen as a unifier of people and emotions, collective and private rituals, stories, and anecdotes destined to become immortal.

Introduced by the voice of Luca Ward, the documentary features Francesco Totti, Alessandro Nesta, Federica Pellegrini, Gianmarco Tamberi, Paola Egonu, Adriano Panatta, Alberto Tomba, Pecco Bagnaia, Giuseppe Signori, Fabio Cannavaro, Carlo Ancelotti, José Mourinho, Arianna Errigo, and Gianmarco Pozzecco, as well as fans like Carlo Verdone and industry insiders like Giovanni Malagò, Luca Cordero di Montezemolo, and Ivan Zazzaroni.

Maestro Tommaso Maestrelli

The documentary about Tommaso Maestrelli takes us on a fascinating journey through 20th-century Italy, telling the story of a man who changed the way we think about football. Fifty years after his passing, his memory still lives on in the hearts of many. The story of an underdog who won a historic championship with a team of unknowns, defying the dominance of northern teams. The title reflects the epochal shift from black-and-white football to the colors of total football, a cultural as well as sporting revolution.
